Brawn GP meets Tuthill Porsche

by John on January 10, 2010

Dropped in to Tuthills the other day to find Brawn GP’s graphics guys on site striping up the Frederic Dor Safari car, which is off to Norway tomorrow. This is the car I am talking about – a real favourite of mine:

John and Neil from Brawn (now Mercedes Formula 1) were interesting to watch. The boys have done a number of Tuthill cars and do most of the Prodrive cars too, as well as lots of other stuff. Plenty of “motorsport triangle” connections around this neck of the woods. The chassis had been wrapped in Matt Black at Brawn GP in Brackley a few days previously, so the stripes and Norway Ice Driving logos were going on next. Here’s a series of pics showing progress.

Three 911 rally cars plus the support vehicle leave Wardington tomorrow, headed for the Tuthill Ice Driving school. I was scheduled to fly up to the ice camp this Friday and Saturday, but work commitments prevent it this week – I’ll go later in the season. Richard has recently had an operation on his shoulder tendons so can’t drive anyway. I’m looking forward to passengering him around the facility when things have healed up properly.
