California 3: San Diego

by John on May 17, 2011

Down in San Diego at the minute, photographing some extra-fine classic Porsche.

We spent all day yesterday in a beautiful 356 Speedster under incessant San Diego sun. Took the 356 to within a few miles of the border with Mexico and shot it in a fabulous period location. You are going to love this article when its finds a home.

Today is a 911 day: two beautiful cars that will knock your socks off. We head for LA on Wednesday morning, drop in to see a restorer friend of ours and then fly to NYC to do 6 days on east coast roads. Getting some of the best stuff ever on this trip – will keep you up to date as and when I can get online.

"6 days on east coast roads"? Are you coming close to North Carolina? Close to Raleigh?

Up in New York and New Hampshire. First and last trip here if current state of play keeps up!

Thanks. Enjoy!

John,
There are a lot of special cars tucked away in North Carolina. Plus interesting shops that range from Road Scholars (http://www.theaircooledguys.com/) to Z-Tug (http://www.d-zug.us/) and everything in between…all pretty close to each other too. We have perfect weather during late fall/winter/early spring, with lots of sunny, "Carolina Blue" skies for photography. VIR is also a quick drive away…wonderful track.
So many possibilities, so many stories!
Best,
Udo

You are right, Udo! Having a ball in NH, NC on the list for another time.
