My buddy Wayne Dempsey of Pelican Parts and 101 Projects fame recently appeared on Adam Carolla’s CarCast. The guys shot a little video of Wayne’s wicked 914/6, which includes hearing that silky six starting up first turn. This is a sweet little car with some great history; just one of Wayne’s compact but compelling Porsche collection.
Herr Dempsey is great company: a lively thinker, quick with the wisecracks and always lots of stories to share. I bet he and Adam well and truly shot the breeze that day. Wayne was the last non-me person to sit in Varmint before this shot was taken, and it was quite a nice moment to hear the Chief Pelican say he liked my knocked-about little 911.

I’m working on an interview piece with Wayne for 911 & Porsche World magazine at the minute which hopefully should appear in the next issue or two. Jamie and I had a good laugh meeting everyone at Pelican that day: Scott and Wayne are an entertaining double act. Missing those guys, the sound of the nearby ocean and the SUNSHINE!
