Contrasting Thoughts

Contrasting paint on cars is a bold statement that usually looks rank. But sometimes…

This 911 ST has been stuck in my brain since we saw it last year at Classic Le Mans. The colour is quite similar to my Gemini Blue 911T project, currently hiding out in a container. That colour combined with the slinky arches makes me want to go this way with the T, whenever we get started on it. The contrast of blue and white is pretty cool, but the question is: could it be any cooler?

There’s some great detail on this car up close, stuff that is well worth trying a version of on my T but that is not what this is about. Here’s another pic of it:

I’ve decided to keep my Gemini paint, but am considering a 3.6 in the back, so the ST look is nice. I like the Minilites on the rear but not 100% on the look of the front Fuchs here. White bumpers? Hmm – not sure.

Likewise, the ‘French ST’ is very pretty, but this black with my blue? Don’t think so:

So what could we use with the Gemini Blue then? Not digging the white, not digging orange, don’t see yellow flying. Not huge on silver, but what about gold? I like the gold cookies on the T, think they look great with the blue. I like this colour scheme too – albeit the blue is different. The Almeras biz could be a serious look contender for the Varmint though, so I may have to do something else!
