OK, not crawling but the Elvis Costello track came to mind.
Car photographer and good friend Jamie Lipman is currently wending his way from Chicago to California on a Honda Cub. That is 55mph maximum top speed on a downhill slope, with a decent wind behind you and your running shoes on. Hats off to Jamie for taking this on, as it’s a hell of a long way at the double-nickel.
Having said that, the lower speed is an attraction in itself: on a bike you are highly sensitised to the environment so many more influences have a bearing. The little Cub should (fingers crossed) be reliable too, which adds its own pleasure.
Latest pics suggest James is falling in with the right kinda company to make it a real adventure. Here he is having a goat skull attached to the front – they obviously thought the headlight didn’t have enough to do already with the milk crate on there.
