Excellent drive down to Essen Techno Classica today in a new 997 C4S, on loan from Porsche UK.
The weather was awful most of the way through Belgium and into Netherlands, then Germany, so absolutely perfect for the all-wheel-drive 911. Tonight has been dry, so hopefully will stay that way, as I am trying to find some more work to do while at the show!
I’m down here with TwinSparkRacing.com partner, Leonard Stolk. Great work chat over a few beers tonght with Leonard, who is not gone on the Speed Yellow colour of the C4S. I can’t say it would have been my first choice either, but it does grow on you from inside the cockpit. After today, I like it even more; there’s no missing Speed Yellow with xenon lamps.
The road trip is part of an upcoming 911 & Porsche World magazine feature. Getting some great fun pics with this car, and top MPG also. 32 to the gallon on the way down – seem to think I’d done well over 120 litres of 95 RON in the orange car by now last year.
Suffice to say I am loving it. More data later!

Nice. Great color too. Enjoy the bumblebee, I'll be looking forward to TC-Essen pics.
Great colour – has really grown on me. Didn't take that many Essen shots, but got enough for a few blog posts
HI can you give me any info about the black carrera on page 41 of issue 84 [ 997 to essen?] . Also any info on if this car is for sale.
Thank You
Alan Hunt
Was for sale Alan, but at Essen show prices and over a year ago. Will be long gone by now.
