Hard to believe the little Landcruser (LJ70) has been off the road since June 2006. Took me a few months (28 is a few on my calendar) to convince best mate Rob at Raceresto.com to make me some new sills for it and weld up the arches (repair panels are not available for these), and after that it went to Derek’s place to have the bottom half painted on both sides.

I picked it up from Robert’s place painted and ready to go back together on Dec 20, 2008. Then it sat in my back garden untouched until today – 7 months later – just due to other stuff getting in the way. Today was a good day on it though, as I got the new exhaust on there and sounding good, and reinstalled the inner rear side panels with decent speaker connections. Tomorrow it’s sorting some spacers for the front speakers and trying to reglue the saggy rear section of headlining. Then I’ll get a machine shop to drill out the seized threads in the arch brackets and get those put back on this week sometime. Ideally I’d like to get it in for test before the end of the month but I dunno how likely that is. August might be more like it. These normally sell for good money with a test – hoping for £2k but we’ll see how that works out.
Few pics of the sills as they are now, and the new pipes – you have to drop the rear prop to get the exhaust on, but even then installing the centre pipe is a COMPLETE nightmare. I had to get the grinder on mine.
