Porsche 908 warm up at Classic Le Mans

by John on July 14, 2010

I’ve been back from France for a couple of days but, thanks to some serious deadlines and a couple of big (ultimately successful) meetings, I’ve not yet had time to sort through the pictures and video shot with my cameras. However, here’s an iPhone vid I think some of you will like.

I shot it on the Friday at Classic Le Mans, in baking heat: track temp was 45 degrees. At the time I could barely stand still for long on the tarmac in the 908 paddock – it was seriously that hot.

This is the scene just before the Porsche Spyders headed down to the pitlane for their Friday afternoon practice session. It gives a good idea of the level of energy you can absorb just by being around these cars. Makes me want to go and grab a cold Iced Tea and run off to the grandstands to watch the action!

I’ll post some more pictures tomorrow.

Good to hear you're back safely and good to hear your meetings have been successful… I look forward to hearing more!

Buyer Beware!! The Blue and white 908/02 Porsche (so called Mcqueen Lemans Camera car in the above video) is a 100% FRAUD! The real Steve McQueen 908 Porsche is in the U.S.A., period! Documented by Chad McQueen and the Porsche Factory from 1990-2010. The old German "low life" in the video above is a high end collector car "con/crook!" Just trying to make some fast money off someone/a-fish!The man only claimed to own a part of an fuel cell that came from the 1970 Lemans 908 Porsche camera car in the 70s, 80s, 90s. That he claimed came from the McQueen 908 Porsche, that's all a fuel cell! Never has he shown anyone what he is now claiming to own… until 2004! Again, the real Steve McQueen 908 Porsche is in the U.S.A. and is 100% documented by the Porsche Factory back in the early 90s!
Buyer Beware!!

This has nothing to do with me or my video. No mention is made of any of these cars being for sale.
