More Personal Publishing: Porsche in Argentina

by John on March 4, 2011

Estanislao Iacona recently emailed with news of a new Porsche book. Lao and his creative partner, Cristián Bertschi, have just released Porsche Argentina: the latest in their archive collections of national classic car history.

I haven’t seen the book myself, but it looks to be quite interesting. On sale for $135 a copy posted worldwide, it’s not cheap, but there can’t be too many other sources for this material. I’m sure much of the photography is unique to this particular work.

Seen here are Jaroslav Juhan and his 550 RS Spyder in Mexico, 1954 (Porsche Archive pic) and a Cisitalia Porsche about to be shipped from Italy to South America, painted in the Argentine national racing colours of yellow and blue (Marcelo Loeb pic).

Well done to both of them – great when passionate people see their projects through to completion. As Seth Godin recently put it: “And that’s the shift. You look at a world of opportunities and you pick one. Initiative is taken, it’s not given.

Hey John
Do you think these guys may be able to put me in touch with 'my' 1991 Argentinian driver Oscar Larruari?? Would be a nice feature for you!
