Just surfing my buddy Karl O’Donoghue’s blog and came across some great pics to share. Karl is a man well known to the ladies of Limerick, but is now living out in NY with his darling wife and a cornucopia of cats and old cars. Oh, how they weep on Shannonside!
Anyway, the main man has been all over recently, with trips to French wineries and the American interior. One outing took Karl to the Equinox hillclimb up near Manchester, Vermont, where he hooked up with some hardcore Porschers for what sounds like a fun event.
The pics that really grabbed my attention were these two, of local hero Steve Bauer’s racing 911. The car is apparently built on a ’64 chassis, but using a whole pile of RSR bits. Even with a cursory glance, I can see some very trick stuff there. I look forward to getting under the clip-off skin of that baby one day. Amazing! Some ©KOD video of the car here: Porsche 911 RSR video.
In other news, it had slipped my mind that online amigo Jim Garfield was an impact bumper driver. Also love this pic of Jens and Heidi M’s car with a swapped-over flat lid, replacing a duck they just did a deal on with Jim. Sweet bit of 911 sharing and great pics, Karl!

Great post, thanks for sharing John.
That's an amazing Porsche built with RSR parts on the '64 chassis. We are local to the Northeast US as well – we *must* make it up to Manchester at some point for that hill-climb.
Thanks for the positive feedback! It looks like great country around those parts – hope to get there one day myself.
