Here’s a great picture of three of my favourite Porsche people.
OK, maybe not such a great picture! I have no idea what possessed them to capture this happy moment in front of those crappy shelves (I’m kidding). Anyway: here’s three great Porsche guys, who have just agreed a partnership where two of them will distribute the third’s products in Europe.
The laid back bloke in the middle is superstar engineer Hayden Burvill of WEVO/Windrush Evolutions Inc in sunny California. The exceptionally handsome chaps left and right are Leonard Stolk and Lex Proper, who own TwinSpark Racing in Oegstgeest, near Amsterdam.
For anyone unfamiliar with WEVO’s excellent Porsche chassis performance products, just go here to see more: WEVO Porsche Products. Hayden does parts for most Porsches, including all aircooled 911 models, Boxster/Cayman and 996/997. I run a tall WEVO Classic shifter, the PSJ shift coupler and a pair of WEVO R-Lite billet door handles in my orange 911. Everything was bought and paid for (no press blags here) and I love them all. Quality is never in recession!
Good friends L & L own a great collection of 911s and almost live to race. Lex has factory Carrera Cup race miles under his belt, along with other noteworthy Porsche racing scalps. Leonard has just finished the Coppa D’Europa rally (with wife Soledad navigating) in Silverado, his wicked little ST rep. Having run the Spa Summer Classic last year and finished second in class (pic below), this year they are racing a pair of 911 RSRs in post historic championships.

There are a few obvious advantages to having TwinSpark as WEVO distributors for Europe. First off, these are all successful guys, so there’s no messing about with fly-by-night ventures. Time to customer is a another good one: someone who needs a WEVO Porsche 915 transmission shifter kit or reinforced side cover in Germany can now have it next day, rather than in 3 or 4 days from the USA: perfect for hardcore racers.
I like both those things, but my two big positives are that it adds yet another excellent product line to TwinSpark’s growing inventory of tried and tested Porsche racing products (alongside the MFI pumps, Zuffenhaus forged Fuchs wheels, classic repro steering wheels and recreated RSR brakes), and it frees some time up for Hayden to develop more of his driver-focused upgrade parts for Porsche cars, and build more cool 911 hot rods. On that basis alone, I give it a ten!
TwinSpark’s WEVO-centric website at WEVO.eu goes live on April 6th. I’ll add a link here when it’s up and running.

Why is the guy on the left wearing a Tony Blair mask?
